“That Drop” in all honesty is a bit of an unconscious ode/homage to many of our influences coming up as both Djs and producers. Unconscious because it wasn’t something we’d set out to do at all, however throughout the writing process we seemed to be gravitating towards the sonic elements of everything from 2000s “Dirty Dutch House” and “Tribal House” inspired by artists such as Laidback Luke, Steve Angello, Afrojack , Sydney Samson, and Franky Rizardo (to name but a few) to “Electro House ”, and “Hip-Hop”. The real trick was just making sure to put enough of a modern swing on it to have it be a representative of today’s sound all the while hinting at our roots, something which we think in the end we succeeded and getting across.
