Running Out of Time: Where It All Started

Before the remixes, there was the original.

Running Out of Time started with a simple idea: create a record that could carry real emotion without losing the energy and momentum needed on a dancefloor.

Rather than over complicating it, the track was built around contrast — atmosphere and tension on one side, movement and release on the other. The result is a record that feels equally at home through headphones as it does coming through a club system.

Built Around a Feeling

At the centre of Running Out of Time is that familiar sense of urgency — the feeling that something is slipping away and you only have a limited window to do something about it.

That emotion became the foundation of the track.

The production gradually builds around it, allowing the vocal and melodic elements space to breathe before the energy begins to take over. Instead of chasing a single big moment, the record develops naturally, creating tension through the arrangement and letting each section push the next one forward.

There is something slightly nostalgic about it, but the production stays firmly rooted in the present.

The Record That Opened the Door

One of the most interesting things about making Running Out of Time was realizing how many different directions the original idea could potentially go.

The vocal, melodies and underlying emotion all had enough identity to survive outside of the original production.

That eventually became the inspiration behind handing the track over to a completely different group of producers.

But every version starts here.

This is Running Out of Time in its original form — the record that created the world the remixes are about to completely tear apart and rebuild.
